Rolo Pretzel Bites

July 7, 2011

I might be the last person to discover this super easy and delicious treat, however, I’m no stranger to the salty-sweet combo and the deliciousness that it is. And I’m certainly no stranger to desserts that take less than 10 minutes and require a 1 out of 10 in baking difficulty. My sister in law brought us a wonderful bowl of these handmade goodies when we moved into our home, I was hooked, and I knew I had to make these for our long weekend at the cottage. They cost little to make, take less than 10 minutes, and are the perfect bite-size treat for any group. All you need is a bag (or two!) of Rolo candies, a bag of mini pretzels, and pecan halves.

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees, remove the Rolo candies from their wrapper and line a cookie sheet with foil.  Place the pretzels flat on the foil-lined cookie sheet.
Place 1 Rolo on each pretzel.  Place in the oven for 5-6 minutes or until the Rolos become soft.
Immediately after removing the pretzels from the oven, place a pecan halve on each Rolo and very lightly press down to spread the ooey-gooey chocolate and caramel over the pretzel.  Let the treats stand or put them in the refrigerator until the chocolate/caramel hardens. Enjoy!
